What is a Viewing Class?
The Viewing Class marks the end of Term 4, where students perform both a class routine and a solo walk for family and friends. This is an exciting opportunity for students to showcase what they’ve learnt and celebrate their progress. Our Viewing Class offers a more relaxed atmosphere than Graduation, without the big stage, lights, or full hair and makeup, but it remains a very special occasion. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to dress up, perform with confidence, and showcase their progress in front of a smaller, supportive audience.
Prior to our Viewing Class, I’ll send out a message to confirm approximate attendance numbers from all students. This helps ensure we have enough seating for everyone in the room. Students will be dropped off at their allocated time for a quick rehearsal, class photos, and final preparations before their performance. Families and friends will then return at the scheduled time to watch the performances. Time reminders and final details will be sent out closer to your Viewing Class as a friendly reminder.
Attendance Reminder
Please ensure all class dates are added to your calendars. Attendance is essential this term as we prepare for our Viewing Classes. If you are unable to attend any lesson, please provide as much notice as possible. Missing even one class can impact team formations, routines, and confidence. We completely understand that unexpected things can come up: sickness, family commitments, or last-minute changes. All we ask is a quick message in your class group chat or a text to 0406 974 439 to let us know.
We want every student to stay on track and feel confident, so we’ve made sure all the resources you need, including videos and written routines are available to help you catch up anytime. All students and parents will receive the final written copy of their class routine, along with the video links, via email. Each student will also have their single written routine in their display folder or notebook.
Viewing Class Colours & Outfits
Each class has selected its own colour theme for the Viewing Classes. Students should be dressed head-to-toe in their class colours, including clothing, shoes, jewellery, and accessories. Outfits can be all one colour or a mix of both.
For example: Black & White – You can wear all black, all white, or a combination of both.
We’re aiming for smart casual, stylish yet practical so students are more likely to re-wear their outfit. It doesn’t need to be cocktail attire, but if you already own a dressier outfit that suits your class colours, that’s perfectly fine too. If you’d like to double-check your outfit, please text me on 0406 974 439 to confirm.
Please ensure:
– Students feel comfortable in their outfit
– Routines are practiced at home wearing the outfit
– Outfits fit well (not too big or small)
– Correct undergarments are worn
– Shoes, heels, or sandals are worn to all remaining classes this term for practice
Outfit ideas include – dresses, dress shorts, skirts, non-ripped jeans, playsuits, jumpsuits or other smart daywear options. Making sure dresses and skirts are no longer than 3 quarter length.
We encourage students to check their wardrobes first for something suitable before purchasing anything new – often, there’s already a perfect outfit waiting to be worn!
Hair & Makeup
Hair – Must be neatly tied up and off the face for all lessons and final performances. Styles can include down and pinned back, half-up/half-down, ponytail, or bun, as long as it’s tidy and keeps hair away from the face. Fringes can remain down if preferred.
Makeup – Not compulsory. For juniors, a light touch such as moisturiser and lip gloss is perfectly suitable. Teen and senior students are welcome to wear light foundation, mascara, gloss, or blush. We recommend a natural, fresh look. Please avoid heavy or evening-style makeup.
